Purpose:
Evaluation of the effectiveness of Mississippi
State University's Summer Scholars Program
on the personal well-being, goal attainment
and decision making of participants.
Sample:
54 campers (26 male, 28 female), ages 12-18,
predominantly white, attending one of two
Summer Scholars Program camps, science camp
or "on stage" camp.
Methods/Instruments:
Pre-, post-test, Personal Achievement Skills
System (PASS), University Residence Environment
Scale (URES).
Results:
Significant increase overall in self-efficacy,
stress management, anxiety management, goal
attainment and problem solving means on
PASS test scores.
