Red Cross Teams Up to Shelter People and Their Pets
The Red Cross understands the importance of pets to their owners. The Red Cross and the Houston Bureau of Animal Regulation and Care (BARC) worked together to keep pets and their owners together, whenever possible, despite the disruption of a major storm.
First Lady Mrs. Laura Bush visited the Auchan Red Cross Mass Shelter on Friday, October 3, 2008. She met with volunteers, staff and even helped serve dinner to the shelter residents.
