ACA
Forms a Partnership With Teach for America
The American Camp Association® and
Teach For America are excited to announce
their partnership to help close the
achievement gap and engage more members
of the camp community in the movement
to eliminate educational inequity.
Teach For America is the corps of outstanding individuals
from all backgrounds, majors and career interests
who teach for two years in urban and rural public schools and
become leaders in expanding educational opportunity for all.
Who are we reaching and how it will make
a difference is a question we are challenging
ourselves with on a daily basis. Partnerships
in higher education and with other public-serving
organizations help us to expand our reach.
Over 25,000 Teach for America applicants
are never placed in the classroom. ACA
has access to these highly-qualified applicants
to connect them to camp jobs because of
ACA’s recent partnership with Teach
for America.
This unique partnership supports camp’s
efforts to advance staff recruitment.

tangible change- introducing your students to new opportunities in life. Given
your demonstrated commitment to
service, there is a natural compatibility between the camp experience and
service in the classroom. We encourage you to apply to the
2009 Teach For America corps.
