ACA Explores Emerging
Issues in Camps— Summary

In November 2007 ACA conducted its first annual emerging issues survey of ACA-affiliated
camp directors to better understand the evolving and emerging issues and trends
in the camp industry. Issue areas in the survey included: parent communication;
staff recruitment, screening, and training; security; programming; healthy eating
and physical activity in children; medical insurance and medication; electronics/social
networks; problem behaviors of campers and staff; and other emerging topics.

Camp Sites, Facilities, and Programs Survey
Completed
ACA is committed to providing industry-relevant
research and information that camps can use
to improve their business operations. Following
the Budget and Finance Survey in 2005 and the
Compensation and Benefits (Salary) Survey in
2006, ACA recently completed the Camp Sites,
Facilities, and Programs Survey in November
2007. Results from this study will
be available in late January or early February
