EPIC Cares - Forest Park

What is EPIC Cares: Forest Park?

We'll be planting trees in Forest Park, a beautiful park in Queens that consists of 538 acres of trees and fields. Our spot is just a 5-minute walk from the J train, and is easily accessible by car. As an added bonus this year, lunch will be included!

Our goal for the day is to plant 500 trees in the park! The holes will be dug and the saplings waiting for us! We'll be helping work towards the MillionTreesNYC initiative, which plans to plant 1 million trees in NYC in the next 9 years. You can find out more about the initiative by going to milliontreesnyc.org.

We're quite lucky to have secured such a beautiful location and to be able to help a cause which is really close to all of our hearts - creating opportunities for children to experience nature, even in urban areas.

When is it?
Saturday April 25. We'll spend the morning planting trees, have lunch together in the park. Afterwards we'll be heading over to Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden, a great little hangout with a wide selection of beers.

Who can join in the fun?

This event is for anyone who works in the camp industry! Please pass this email on to anyone at your camp you think might be interested!

How do I sign up?
Simply register on our EPIC Cares sign-up page, located here: http://www.tinyurl.com/epiccares2009 There is a $20 registration fee to help offset the cost of the trees we'll be planting.

The final deadline for registration is April 17, don't miss out! See you there!
